New Product Development, Process, Brainstorming, Benchmarking, Strategy and Training Key Principals
The President of Axiom Business Concepts, Rob has more than 25 years of engineering, research and design, product development, marketing, and manufacturing experience. He has helped to create and implement six new product development processes at companies such as General Electric and the Toro Company, and has helped to develop more than 240 new products. Rob is a Certified New Product Development Professional (NPDP).
Rob has extensive experience in concept ideation and problem solving. He has created highly successful products and processes in many categories; appliances, toys, food, business services, medical instruments, batteries (Champion and Power Stick), lawn and garden (SuperBlower), animal feeds (Nutri-Source); consumer electronics (Double Charger, Smart Charger). In just the past ten years he has been granted 8 patents.
Prior to his present position, he held positions with several divisions of General Electric, including its power generation, controls, service, battery and appliance divisions; Gould National Battery; and The Toro Company.
Rob is a regular lecturer, speaker, advisor and a faculty member at the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management and Engineering Departments. He is a frequent speaker and planner for PDMA International Conferences, as well as a moderator for Advanced Workshops. Rob chairs many conferences on Product Development, Applied Creativity and Technology.
Rob received his Masters in Business from Webster University and BS in mechanical engineering from Clemson University.
Prior to joining Axiom as Principal in 1998, Len completed 24 years of product marketing and general management in manufacturing environments. He has been President and CEO of Durex, VP Marketing at Colder Products, a fluid handling device manufacturer, and at Weigh-Tronix, an industrial and commercial scale producer. He was also president of Tecnetics Industries.
Len's international business and management experience includes service with Clark Material Handling Company in positions such as Director of International Marketing, Marketing Director of Light I.C. Trucks, and General Manager of Clark Spain.
Len's new product development experience includes leading successful new product projects in fork lift trucks, thermoplastic couplers for industrial and consumer use, electronic weighing devices and process control equipment.
A past President of the Minnesota Chapter of the Product Development and Management Association (PDMA), Len now serves as an officer on the International board. An adjunct professor at the University of California - Irvine, he has also guest lectured at Michigan State University, Western Michigan, Troy State, Valdosta State and Georgia Tech. Len earned a BA in languages from Johns Hopkins University and an MBA from the American Graduate School of International Management. He is fluent in Spanish and is a Certified New Product Development Professional.
